Registers
The Education Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network keeps two registers. They are the authoritative record of who is certified against Network standards and of the organisations whose systems conform to them. Certification and its renewal are described under Certification.
On 6 September 2026 both registers were opened with transitional entries for every certificate issued by a member organisation before that date and recognised by the Department. There are 1,284 such entries on the register of certified persons and 37 on the register of certified organisations. Each lapses on 30 June 2027 unless converted under the transitional arrangements. No full entry has yet been made; the first will follow the first examination sittings in October 2026.
The two registers
- Register of certified persons
- Every individual who holds a current foundation, operator or assessor certification. An entry is made on certification and lasts for three years unless renewed, suspended or withdrawn.
- Individuals
- Register of certified organisations
- Every organisation whose systems and procedures hold a current certificate of conformance. An entry is made on certification and lasts for two years unless renewed, suspended or withdrawn.
- Organisations

What a status means
- Current
- A full entry made by the Department on examination or assessment, within its period of validity. The holder may act in every respect that the level of certification allows.
- Transitional
- An entry made on 6 September 2026 for a certificate issued by a member organisation before that date. It has the same effect as a current entry until 30 June 2027, when it lapses unless converted.
- Suspended
- An entry whose effect has been stopped while the Department considers whether the standard is still met, or while a finding is remedied. A suspended holder may not act on the certification. Suspension is lifted or converted to withdrawal within the period given in the notice.
- Withdrawn
- An entry that has been cancelled before its expiry. The entry remains on the register, marked withdrawn, for three years so that an enquirer can see that certification was once held and is no longer.
- Expired
- An entry whose period of validity has ended without renewal. Expired entries are removed from the public register but retained by the Department, and a holder who renews within one year of expiry keeps the original certificate number.
Checking an entry
Step 1: Write to the Department
State the name of the person or organisation and, where known, the certificate number.
Step 2: Confirmation
The Department confirms in writing whether an entry exists, its level and its status. Personal details beyond those in the register are not disclosed.
Step 3: Correction
A holder who believes an entry is wrong may ask for it to be corrected. The Department replies within twenty working days.
Publication
The registers will be made available on this site. Until then, enquiries about an entry may be sent to contact@education.gov.vin. The Department publishes the figures above again at the end of each quarter, and will publish the first quarterly figures for full entries on 31 December 2026. A holder who disagrees with a decision to suspend or withdraw an entry may make representations under Appeals and complaints.
